My Approach
I believe that counselling is about your process. With you, we create a safe place for you to discover and process the road blocks in your life. Together we will work towards creating change. Each session will be about 50 minutes in length, where we will discuss your current challenges and work towards finding a solution
In our first session, I will be asking a lot of questions to get to know you a little better and discover your current difficulties. Together we will design a counselling plan which will include focusing on some initial counselling goals.
Is Counselling Right For Me?
Short answer is “Yes,” at some point. Every person can greatly benefit from it at some time, or multiple times in life. It is recommended that you seek out counselling if you experience more than one life transition within a month’s time. Some life transitions may include – moving, job change, additions to the family, loss, starting/stopping school, marriage or divorce.
Is counselling right for my child?
Children experience stress differently than adults. The way in which they process and integrate stress will manifest differently. Children may become withdrawn, irritable, anti-social, disobedient, sad or anxious. If your child is exhibiting behaviors that are a-typical, counselling may be a good fit.
What is your experience?
I have over 10 years of counselling experience with children, teens and their families. I specialize in working with those who struggle with anxiety, mental health challenges, anger and other stressors that stop you from fully living your life.
Why counselling?
Counselling offers a neutral place to express some of life’s most challenging experiences and emotions. It allows you to fully process all the things that life gives you.
How does counselling work for children?
The counselling process looks different depending on the age of the child. A variety of play, art and conversation is used to help children and teens process their life events.
Though this moment may be tough, you are reaching out for help and that is a quality of strength.
